Almenwelt Lofer ski area via the Almbahn I + II ski lifts
Now open in summer too!
The Loferer Almenwelt lifts enable you to make an easier/shorter ascent to the Loferer Alm. Take the Almbahn I (located 1000 metres above sea level) to Loderbichl. From here, you can enjoy wonderful hiking trails including the “Auf die Alm” adventure trail. On a hike lasting around two hours and with a vertical climb of about 350 metres, the route takes you past waterfalls and 12 stations to the Loferer Alm. Each summer, this Alpine pasture becomes home to about 400 cattle, and is known and loved as one of the Salzburg region’s most varied hiking and biking areas.
Or if you prefer, take the Almbahn II directly to the Almenwelt Lofer at 1,350 metres. Nature lovers can drink in breathtaking panoramic views, gentle Alpine pastures, natural streams, and a wide variety of fascinating flora and fauna, while active holiday-makers can scale the heights with a bike or a backpack!
Another attraction in the Almenwelt Lofer is the 1,700 m² “Rote Marmorsee” lake, which can be easily reached via the no. 4 Märchen circular hiking trail, and is an ideal hike for the whole family. With so many exciting experiences to look forward to, it’s easy to motivate even the smallest of hikers! The new adventure playground located next to the Almbahn II mountain station does its bit - it has a climbing tower, rope slide, see-saw animals, and loungers!
You can also take your bike on the lift free of charge!
